The Walt Disney Company today donated $235,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Los Angeles and Orange counties.
The annual contribution includes donations to 17 Orange County clubs that each receive $5,000 and 50 tickets to the Disneyland Resort. One club will be given a 12-passenger van worth $35,000. The club receiving that van is being announced this morning, so check back later today for photos and more information.
“We are proud to be able to support the Boys & Girls Club organization because developing children and investing in their future is important to everyone in our society,” said Jill Bolton, director of community relations for the Disneyland Resort.
Since 2005, Disney has committed more than $7 million to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, including a $1 million contribution to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim, the single largest gift the organization has received in its 16-year history. Disney’s history with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America began when Walt Disney was an honorary member of the organization’s Board of Directors.
