O.C. Wyndham offers discount in “celebration” of overturn of gay marriage ban

May 15th, 2008, 3:44 pm · 7 Comments · posted by Sonya Smith

orangecnty_MbanquetIn celebration of today’s California Supreme Court decision overturning the gay marriage ban in the state of California, the Wyndham Orange County hotel is offering the first 50 couples to book their same sex wedding at the hotel a 50 percent discount including the event space, wedding, reception, and all food & beverage including cocktails, wine and dinner.

The offer is valid for the first 50 same-sex couples to book weddings at Wyndham Orange County starting today, May 15th, 2008. Weddings must be held before December 31st, 2008. The Wyndham is at 3350 Avenue of the Arts, Costa Mesa. Phone number for hotel: 714-751-5100.

The hotel says that it has teamed up with the Rev. Giovanna Piazza—a priest of the Ecumenical Catholic Communion—who is available to same-sex couples holding their weddings at Wyndham Orange County. The hotel says Piazza operated on the principle that “the celebration of love and commitment through public vows are not limited by sexual orientation.”

Notes about the deal from Wyndham: Offer excludes cash bar, taxes, service charge, gratuities, hotel accommodations, and parking. This offer is not valid in combination with any other offer, discount, or agreement and space is based on availability. Offer applies to new contracts and is non-commissionable. This offer is only valid at Wyndham Orange County hotel.

Congratulations to The Wyndham OC for doing business that supports the community! If it’s against your beliefs, don’t participate. The life we are living is “right now” and to each his/her own after life, but the Wyndham is helping people celebrate the life they choose and that is admirable.

I thank God that some people in this beautyful country realize who God really is. But its truly sad that a great majority, would have nothing more than an intolerent nazi Germany.
They seem to want as much as death to what they don’t understand, thank God there is still seperation of church and state!

I think that what the Wyndham Orange County is doing is both admirable and bold. For those of you who seem to think they are taking advantage of the Supreme Courts ruling obviously did not visit their website prior to making that judgment. If you had, you would realize that in fact, the Wyndham has been holding commitment ceremonies at their hotel for some time now, and are only offering this discount as a celebration of the recent ruling. Many in the world may argue the righteousness of gay marriage and many would say that it is down right unreligious. However, to not support equality is nothing short of un-American. The hotel is obviously standing up for something that they feel strongly about but ultimately they are providing a day of happiness and acceptance for a group of people that have waited a very long time for it. Congratulations to the Wyndham Orange county and to all of those who choose to celebrate their love there.

What happened to living by the golden rule? If we violate the golden rule, then we’re violating the spirit of fairness and concern that lie at the heart of morality.

Don’t you people know how many different versions and selective editing of the bible have taken place over the centuries?

    Don’t hate……educate!!!
