  • Eat at a character meal. Characters will come up to your table for photos and autographs, eliminating the hassle of waiting in line at the parks.
  • To allow yourself more time to spend interacting with the characters, have your autograph books, cameras, and pens ready to go before you get to the front of the line.
  • Occasionally you will find characters walking through the park. They also have scheduled times for greeting guests.   Check your entertainment guide for a schedule of character meeting times and locations.

  • Autograph books, cameras and pens are sold at the park. A regular autograph book costs $6.95. A larger sized autograph book with pen costs $12. A pen costs $4. A single-use, 39 photo camera costs $19.38. Or, bring your own camera from home.
  • Other opportunities to see characters are in parades and shows.
  • Book a trip through the Walt Disney Travel Company and you will receive a voucher to Mickey’s Toontown Morning Madness, an event which allows you to enter Toontown an hour before it officially opens to watch a parade, become an honorary Toontown citizen, and meet Mickey Mouse.

Sorry, Ariel fans. Triton’s Garden is no more, making way for Pixie Hollow.

Way to keep up with the news - you published this about 2 weeks after Ariel had “left the grotto”!

As a former cast member here are a few helpful tips on meeting characters. The meet and greet can be a fantastic experience for everyone and sometimes a little disappointing. Here are some helpful tips that can help you and your loved ones have a great experience.

When approaching a theme character please make sure you stand in front of them, they have extremely poor visibility in most cases and will not see you if you are out of there direct line of site. They do not mean to seem rude to anyone and are more than polite in all cases. It’s just really hard to see what is not right in front of you.

Parents make sure you have your cameras ready, with so many park guests surrounding the characters time is precious and you do not want to miss that special moment.

Some Characters do not exactly have the best of hands and it’s hard for them to sign autographs, this is not the case for all of them but it is hard for a few.

Princesses are especially fun since they can speak and often what they say to your little one can really make there day.

A trip to City Hall when you arrive can be fun; they have stickers for the asking for a birthday or 1st visit to Disneyland. They also have Maps and listings of the show times and character locations. You would not want to miss Mickey, a show or parade.

One last tip that will make sure you and your party have a good time, make sure you do not hit, pinch, harm, or molest the characters they have feelings too. They are working hard to make everyone feel the love and it’s not nice to mistreat them just because you can. Please be respectful to everyone and everyone will have a great time.
