Disney to assist cast member fire victims

November 18th, 2008, 8:15 am · Post a Comment · posted by Adam Townsend, Staff Writer

O.C. Register Staff Writer John Gittelsohn reports:

Ed Grier, president of Disneyland Resort, said he has no immediate plans to offer discount hotel rooms to the general public, but that the company is providing assistance to cast members who lost homes or whose homes were damaged by the fires.

“Some cast members were impacted,” he said, although he did not have a precise figure.

The Hilton in Anaheim is offering $79-a-night rooms to people displaced by the fire.

Grier said the resort canceled fire works displays on Saturday and Sunday because of high winds.
He said the fire didn’t decrease traffic to the park on Saturday, because it only became a problem later in the day after most guests arrived. He said he didn’t have a gate count on Sunday.
