O.C. Register staff writer Michael Mello:
In recognition of the effort by the area’s law enforcement and fire crews during this week’s inferno, Knott’s Berry Farm is starting its annual Police and Fire Recognition Days a week early.
Starting Friday[Nov. 21] through Dec. 21, Knott’s will give free park admission to active fire and police personnel and one guest. They can buy six more tickets for $15 each.
“We owe so much to the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect and serve our communities,” said Mrty Kiethley, general manager for Knott’s Berry Farm, said in an announcement released Tuesday.
“California is threatened year-round by fires such as those we experience this past week, and it is because of the skill and dedication of these professionals that lives are saved and property protected.”
Firefighters and police must show identification cards listing their affiliation with their agencies at the Fire and Police V.I.P. gate November 21 through December 21. For more information, including operating hours, call Knott’s Information at 714-220-5200 or visit www.knotts.com.
