Did you know that you have to be at least 5 feet tall to sit in the front seat of the log on Splash Mountain? Disney found that smaller guests are more prone to injury while sitting in the front row, such as slipping under the seat or hitting their head so they created a new, front seat height requirement.
Though the rule has been in affect for about two years, we at Around Disney thought this “Did you know?” was worth sharing when, on a hot summer day, I was denied the opportunity to sit in the front row. That’s right - the 5 feet tall rule applies not only to kids, but also guests of all ages including this 4′11” Around Disney blogger.
Keep this “Did you know?” in mind when bringing smaller guests to the attraction so you can warn them before they get their hopes up of experiencing that soaking sensation as they are the first to drop five stories into a Briar Patch.
The height requirement to sit in all the other rows of the log remains at 40 inches.
My child is just 40 inches tall, and they always have us sit in the back seat, so that I can sit next to her and hold her. If you have young kids, be sure to have them enter the log AFTER you; the camera that takes the photo is located on the right side, and this seating placement ups the chances of them being seen in the pic.
Did you know that if you purchase a Mickey balloon and it pops or you lose it while you’re still in the park, just show your receipt and they’ll replace it for you for free?
I love that idea! Why would anyone say the other two options besides “Yes; Disney concern for the safety of their guests is most important.”??? It doesn’t make much sense to me. Of course we would want our children to remain safe on rides, and if they have found that there is a higher injury rate then it makes perfect sense to me! Just my two cents…
Frankly I think this is a nonissue. No one under five feet has the courage to sit at the front for Splash Mountain. This is not opinion this is fact.
Ooooo Alec is SO smart. NOT!
